Fiumalbo (MO)

Fiumalbo is a small charming town with stone houses, streets with vaults over them and a river that runs through the center of town, immersed in the Park of Frignano, at 1400 meters above sea level. The winter resort “Capanna dei Celti” in the ski area of Fiumalbo is set in an uncontaminated landscape of particular interest for its history.

Fiumalbo is a valid alternative to the more crowded resorts of Cimone and Abetone: a true paradise for those who love slopes without a lot of people or landscapes with untamed nature.

You can also do alpine skiing courses and snowshoeing, outings on snowmobiles, or free riding and mountain biking on the snow.

Snowboarders and skiers can go up with snowshoes or fur boots to the top of Cimone to then come down in complete freedom with a difference of 800 meters in height from start to finish (www.fiumalbo.info).

New this year. For those who love skiing, there will be a free shuttle bus service from Fiumalbo to the resorts of Val di Luce and Abetone from December 27 to January 9 and from February 4 to March 18, 2012.  On the evenings of December 24 and January 6, 2012, the historic center of this town will be enlivened by the traditional live Nativity Scene of Fiumalbo, in which more than 250 people participate working together to recreate the magic of the Nativity.
