Up and down on two wheels on Cimone. Let the Mountain Biking season begin

The right season is finally here for getting on your bike and pedaling while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful landscape of Cimone Mountain.

Here the 2011 mountain biking season officially got underway with some great news: the inauguration of 3 new spectacular routes at Cimone Bike Park, the area completely dedicated to downhill and free ride mountain biking, which this year has become part of the exclusive group of bike parks selected as the best in the world by Kona, the world leader in bicycle and accessory production for both free-riding and downhill.

Cimone Bike Park

Located in the splendid setting of the Apennines near Modena and Frignano Park, between Fanano, Sestola, Montecreto and Riolunato, Cimone Bike Park offers numerous routes that wind along more than 70 km through woods and valleys; they are all free riding trails and there is one permanent downhill course as well.

For those who are curious and want to discover this Bike Park, they can request to be accompanied by expert MTB guides, and for those who do not have the necessary equipment, there are several rental places with all that you need.

Cimone Bike Park

Every Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 6pm, there are lifts outfitted with a hook for bikes, which are just waiting for mountain bike fans.  Also, the Sestola-Pian del Falco chairlift, the Lago della Ninfa lift and the Passo del Lupo – Pian Cavallaro cable car will all be running.  There is also a shuttle bus with a bike rack which runs from Pian del Falco to Passo del Lupo.

The daily bike pass costs 19 euros; a morning or afternoon pass is 10 euros, and a two-day pass costs 34 euros.

Weekend packages for bikers. The package "Akkiappa la bici" (Catch the bike) is good for all weekends from June 10 to September 25 and is designed for those who love mountain biking and who are looking to spend an adrenaline packed weekend on the numerous Cimone Bike Park courses.

There are also many offers for those who would like to stay more than one night or for those who would like just to spend the day on the bike paths of Mount Cimone.
