SMELL FESTIVAL 2012

“L’alba dell’indomani” is the theme of the new edition of Smell International Festival that comes back to Bologna, making a stop in Rimini and Ferrara.

Third edition of this festival dedicated to the universe of smell and to the art of perfumery, with international guests, workshops, meetings and many other events, conducted by Italian and international guests called to deal with the dawn, innovation and courage for change. A theme which befits a pioneering festival in promoting culture and art of perfume smell.

Also this year the exhibition is supported by the Regione Emilia-Romagna and the brand Tempo, an active promoter with a program of workshops for adults and children taking place at the Museo della Musica on 26 and 27 May.

Among the ingredients of this special edition, there will be the special guest MICHAEL ROUDNITSKA. Son of the great perfumer Edmond (Eau Sauvage, Dior), creator of fragrances, but also a pioneer of the choreography olfactory and founder of Art & Parfum, a laboratory attended by many independent perfumers. The morning of 27 May at the Museo della Musica, Michel Roudnitska presents his speech titled “Oltre il profumo”.

Following the perfumer MEO FUSCIUNI will offer a preview of the first study of its light fragrance.

The third edition of the Smell Festival is ever more closely linked to the language of art: VALENTINA MEDDA helps evoke the dawn suggestions related to the inauguration of the Festival, Tuesday 22 May.

Her intervention consists in an installation of instant photos in 24 fragments that reconstructs the presumed linearity of time.

For 2012 the Festival has chosen to provide evidence of its identity through a video clip of the launch that has the recipe for the "profumo dell’alba". Made in collaboration with the filmmaker Luca Mattei Ottofilmm, the video will be broadcast on the network.
