"COSE D'ALTRI TEMPI" AND "CHI CERCA TROVA"

Pieve di Cento is worth visiting the fourth Sunday of the month when two antique markets take place in the historic centre.

55 stalls with old stuff, second-hand items, antiques and modern goods fill Via Matteotti, Garibaldi, Melloni and Piazza Andrea Costa for the occasion of the “Chi cerca trova” Market (Seek, and you shall find), whereas the “Cose d'altri tempi” Market (Things from times gone by) is visited by hobbyists, collectors and lovers of second-hand items.

A visit to these antique markets also gives people the chance to walk around in a city that was once known as the “little Bologna” for its long porticoes.

Pieve di Cento has been officially recognized as a “City of art and tourism” by the Emilia-Romagna region due to its intact and typical historic centre: the city has clearly maintained the urban layout of the Roman “castrum”, with the addition of the 9th-century parish church; it then developed during the medieval period and the following Renaissance and Baroque periods.
