FILIPPO DE PISIS EN VOYAGE
An exhibition of the painter Filippo De Pisis
The cosmopolitan personality of the artist and his reckless travelling in Europe during the '30s and '40s puts de Pisis in a modern and actual light, one of an intellectual without borders who, in an era of national renforcement and international crisis, chooses the main capitals as a home for his expressiveness.
The exhibition features some works of his period in a European city, with urban portraits, masculine nudes, still life that are themes through which the artist expresses his apprehensions and his aristocratic detachment from the world.
The exhibition is made up of five main sections:
• The Rome years (1920-1924)
• Paris (1925-1939)
• London (1933, 1935, 1938)
• Milan (1940-1943)
• Venice (1943-1949)
