48th Truffle Festival and Fair

Truffles, the king of the table that grow wild on the green hills near the small town of Dovadola, are honoured on the third and fourth Sunday of October in a huge gastronomic fete.
The “sfogline” (ladies who make pasta by hand) of the Pro Loco Association, all of them volunteers, prepare fresh pasta, made using 2,000 eggs, which they roll out with their pins.
The pasta ribbons are then topped with over 300 kg of meat sauce, with truffles added. The refreshment stands in Piazza Berlinguer prepare polenta, canapés, eggs and pastry parcels - all served with truffles - as well as grilled piadina with cold cuts, sausages, spit-roasted meats, fried piadina and chips, all accompanied with local wines.
In the fete area visitors will be able to buy truffles of all sizes and along the village streets, numerous agricultural producers gather to sell typical autumnal products (chestnuts, medlars, jujubes, mushrooms and honey). Furthermore, as always, there will be a large street market with all kinds of stands.
The music show in the afternoon, art exhibitions and fun fair rides for youngsters will round out the event.

Event timetable: stands will be open from 11.30 am to 7.00 pm.
At 12pm on 19 October a Jury will give an award to the best truffles present at the Fair.
