Every year in September many events are held for this mushroom fair.

Since 1975 the Mushroom Fair has been an unmissable opportunity for all lovers of this local and rare delicacy, and it has also become a chance to enjoy a wide array of events.

This big food festival that winds through the streets of this lovely town, among its colorful houses, and among its people, is the result of a mix between tradition and innovation, which has been very successful over the years.

And this year Borgotaro will offer the best fair yet, with tastings, food stands, themed markets, expos and concerts, all of which will show the quality of food from around the country.

Good food will be the star in a long and colorful parade of typical products from the various regions of Italy, from Sardinia to Trentino, with a central area dedicated to the PGI mushroom and other local products such as mountain marmalade and Parmigiano Reggiano directly from the cheese makers of Valtaro.

The mushroom will be everywhere in all its forms, fresh, dried, canned in oil or cream, perfect for those who want to bring home the best Borgotaro has to offer, but it can also be eaten in many local restaurants, cooked by the talented local chefs.

Programme:

Part of downtown will be dedicated to the event "Quality and Flavor", which will begin with the tasting of PDO and PGI products on September 19th in the evening and will continue on September 20th and 21st with meetings and more tastings and a special guest on Sunday, Michele Cannistraro, from Masterchef Italia.

There will also be musical entertainment, with quality popular music, and even the unique music of Naples with the group Ars Nova. There will also be a trip back in time with the San Secondo flag-wavers show on Sunday, September 28.
