TAMO
The whole adventure of mosaics
Complesso di San Nicolò - Via Rondinelli Nicolò 4
Ravenna (RA)
The beautiful setting of San Nicolò complex hosts "Tamo.Tutta l'Avventura del Mosaico", a permanent exhibition entirely dedicated to mosaic art.
An evocative museum tour of excellent exhibits from the mosaic heritage of Ravenna and surrounding areas, some of which have never been seen before by the public, from late antiquity and the Middle Ages to the works of modern and contemporary artists.
The exhibition has interactive multimedia displays and scenes, models, tools, materials, animated reconstructions and advanced technology.
There will also be a spectacular architectural projection in the San Nicolò church, which can be seen in all its breathtaking beauty thanks to this new set up.
TAMO will also host a new section called "TAMO. Mosaics between Hell and Paradise", a new exhibition dedicated to Dante. The works on display were done by great Italian artists commissioned by the city of Ravenna to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Dante's birth. These works are specifically 21 panels created on paperboard by Italian artists such as Purificato, Cantatore, Gentilini, Mattioli, Ruffini, Morigi Berti, Sassu and Saetti which were then made into mosaics by artists and artisans from Ravenna including Libera Musiani, Giuseppe Salietti, Santo Spartà, Sergio Cicognani and Renato Signorini.
