67th edition: Symphonic Festival and Side Projects

Rimini Palacongressi and other venues

Rimini (RN)

Rimini is ready to host the 67th edition of the music festival Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, one of the oldest and most prestigious Italian music festivals.

The festival once again opens its doors to great music, hosting important international symphony orchestras, conductors and soloists, as well as new projects where original music is intertwined with other arts.

Among the guests: famous artists such as Martha Argerich and Stefano Bollani, internationally renowned orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the RAI - National Symphony Orchestra and prestigious directors such as Yannik Nezet-Seguin and Valery Gergiev.

There are five evenings dedicated to the Symphonic concerts in the beautiful setting of Rimini Palacongressi. On stage the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra on August 30th, the Marinski Theatre Orchestra on September 4th, the MDR SifonieOrchester on September 7th, the Youth Orchestra of Bahia on Semptember 9th and the RAI National Symphony Orchestra on September 13th.

The new stage production of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana will be dedicated to the myth of Orpheus and the origins of opera, thereby marking a new step in the path of the research into Baroque music carried out in recent years.
A series of concerts will focus on Jean Philippe Rameau and the influence exerted by the great French composer throughout Europe with a project that will link the music of the eighteenth century to the celebrations for the fortieth anniversary of Fellini's Casanova.

The varied program of musical events that will enliven Rimini and the surrounding towns proposing renowned soloists and young talents will be concluded by a piano marathon dedicated to Karlheinz Stockhausen, the undisputed master of twentieth-century music.
