Starting out from the Riviera, which, besides the many local festivals, will host many interesting events starting in Cervia where Ferragosto will be celebrated with "Beaches Love Books", a literary festival where an author and his/her works are presented every evening.  For tourists in Cervia, Milano Marittima, Pinarella and Tagliata, 13,000 books will be given away.  The main event of this festival is the landing on the beach in Cervia of boats full of writers, journalists, words and stories.

concertired.jpgWaking up or staying out all night along the shore to welcome Ferragosto at 6 in the morning with "Concerts at dawn" in Milano Marittima with the Youth Orchestra and in Cesenatico, where the "Concerts at dawn" welcome Amycanbe in "Colore e calore soul, presenza e concretezza rock, leggerezza di respiro pop".  Concerts at dawn also in Lido di Pomposa (Fe) at Gallanti Beach at 6.00am, and in Riccione with "Concerts at sunrise" at 5.30 am, with the Hallo Mr. Sax Orchestra, conducted by Mario Marzi "I (we) have a dream".

During the long weekend of Ferragosto, many events have been organized for the Mid August in Ravenna to celebrate each evening outdoors with music and poetry, discovering the artistic monuments and mosaics of the city, listening to live music with the best international and Italian songs.

In Rimini, on August 13 and 14, there will be the world premiere of "Il Palazzo di Atlante", The new production of the Malatestiana Music Festival dedicated to Baroque music.  This project, set up and created by Anagor, and directed by Luca Gardini, is based on the text by Giulio Rospigliosi with music by Luigi Rossi.  Starting on August 18 and ending on August 24 is Rimini Meeting with its wide range of events based on this year's theme "Man Emergency".

During the week there will also be many festivals dedicated to traditions and local foods.

granored.jpgAmong these, we recommend the Grain Festival (Re) in Gattatico, a tribute to the ancient crafts of the 1900s, with comedy shows and ballroom dancing until August 20, the Great Fishermen's Fish Fry on August 14 in Cesenatico, the Hospitality Festival in Portogaribaldi (Fe), again on August 14, in Burana di Bondeno (Fe), the Sturgeon and Seafood Festival on schedule for August 15, and Seafood Flavors, the festival dedicated to good food going on at the different beaches of Comacchio.

Among the street shows, we recommend the buskers of "Precari Equilibri" at Corniolo and Santa Sofia (inland near Forlì-Cesena) from August 12 to 15, who with trapeze artists, tightropes, ropes,  juggling, and acrobatics will keep the audience entertained and holding their breath. For costume parties, in Verucchio just inland from Rimini, "Rocca d'incanto" will welcome people to the Malatesta fortress which will be be brought back to life in memory of its ancient inhabitants. Armor and dancing, ghosts and princes await the public with theatre shows, historic reenactments, guided tours and children's events.

For nature lovers, there are the excursions in the lovely Boscoforte penisola, in Comacchio, one of the most uncontaminated areas of the whole Po Delta Park, or the guided tours  - on foot, with an electric shuttle bus, or by bike – in the Bosco della Mesola Nature Reserve (Fe). Thanks to an electric vehicle, you can also reach the heart of the expansive Campotto in Argenta (Fe), among water lilies and reeds, to admire the most enchanting areas of these marshes, or the salt flats of Cervia, an area inhabited by rare species such as Pink Flamingos, Black-winged Stilt, and Avocets.

For art lovers we recommend the many exhibitions going on.

Among the many opportunities for visitors, we also recommend getting "Cards", such as the Romagna Visit Card - in Forlì and Cesenatico – and the Card del Ducato, which allow visitors to move around this area and have access to services and admission tickets in an easy and convenient way.
