From Tabiano to Cisa Pass
Of the great roads that crisscrossed Europe in the Middle Ages, one of the most important was the Via Francigena which connected Rome to the North Sea. Today, what we consider to be the fundamental part of that “Via” is that which was passed down to us by the precise memory of the Archbishop of Canterbury Sigerico who in 990 went to Rome to receive the Pallium. Along the Parma stretch it is possible to discover parish churches, abbeys, monasteries and castles. The environment has been preserved in parks and natural reserves. This itineraries can be taken slowly, enjoying the marvelous landscape.
