Bondeno
Province:
Ferrara (20 km)
Tourist Area
Bondeno was a free commune in medieval times, and then part of the estate of Canossa family, who constructed numerous buildings there; the only one of which still remaining is the bell tower of the church of the Natività di Maria.
Being a frontier town, it was originally fortified and numerous castles dotted its territory: the Rocca Possente di Stellata, in the town’s surroundings, is one of them.
The area is also appreciated for it's gastronomy and presented as one of the locations of the "Strada dei vini e dei sapori".
The town is on the path of the cycling route "Destra Po".
