Why visit
The medieval and thermal town is famous for its hospitality and for Green tourism and is a member of the club, “I Borghi più belli d’Italia”  and has been awarded the “Bandiera Arancione” , a quality label for sustainable tourism and environment,, by the Italian Touring Club. Brisighella boasts also other important awards such as: the “Città Slow” label and “Città dell’Olio e del Vino”.

The high quality of tourist services, the tranquility of this area along with its historical heritage, the rich selection of local dishes and wines and a large number of artistic and cultural events make it an ideal spot for relaxing and for devoting yourself to personal care.
Where to visit and what to see
Brisighella can be visited all year round, even though the best period to visit it is from Spring to the end of Autumn. The village is set against a chalky hill dominated by three selenite cliffs, upon which the Fortress Rocca Manfrediana, the Clock Tower (built in 1290 and restored in 1850) and the Sanctuary of Monticino (18th century) stand.

The village is made up of ancient lanes and streets, remains of defensive walls and stairways carved into the chalky rocks. The ancient Via del Borgo, also called “Via degli Asini” (Donkeys Alley) used by carters for carrying chalk using donkeys, is an elevated covered street with arched open windows of different sizes.

Brisighella boasts the birth of eight cardinals and has many sacred buildings: the most important of which is Pieve di S. Giovanni in Ottavo, also called Pieve Thò, a Romanesque church built in the 8th century and rebuilt during the 11th and the 12th century.

About five hundred meters from the city centre, the Thermal Centre, which can be easily reached on foot , has an outdoor swimming pool. Embedded among the chalky rocks a few kilometers from the town, Carnè Park with its visitor’s centre  and Tanaccia Cave represent some of the most beautiful spots of the Regional Gypsum Vein Park of Romagna.

Numerous festivals and local feasts are held all throughout the year where you can get to know local products, arts, history, and the architecture of this traditional area.
Don't miss
At the beginning of summer, between the end of May and the beginning of June, "Brisighella Romantica" is a special occasion for original outdoor candlelight dinners, in the heart of the town. To make this event even more unique, in addition to a special menu, there are also exhibitions and musical entertainment with the theme of love.
On the table
The leading product is the DOP Extra virgin olive oil 'Brisighello'. The Mora Romagnola (an old local pig breed), is excellent for cold cuts. Brisighella’s artichoke “il Moretto” grows on the clayey ground in the ravines; it can be eaten raw, seasoned with salt and oil, or as artichoke cream. The Sangiovese Wine and Dine Route of Faenza  is a circuit of local delights.
For fun
The visitor’s Centre located in the Romagna Gypsum Vein Park is an ideal spot for everyone. It offers a packed calendar of events, as well as excursions and eco-cultural stays. It is possible to carry out guided night excursions with overnight stays in the guest quarters.
To keep fit
Brisighella offers a wide range of outdoor sport facilities. There are many itineraries that pass through this area of the Apennine hills. One of the most appreciated is “La Corolla delle Ginestre”, a 60 km circuit that can be visited by bike, on horse-back, or by mountain bike. There are many guest houses along the route offering excellent hospitality.
Main events
During the first two weekends of July, tourists can dive into one of the most intriguing periods of the past, thanks to the Medieval Festival. Every year a different historical theme takes you back in time; exhibitions, street theater, and parades enliven the entire town. Food stands are available along the streets where you can taste medieval food.
Nearby
Brisighella is located in “Terre di Faenza”, a territory, a grouping of places, towns, villages, tradition, and culture which best interpret the spirit typical of the people of Romagna. “Terre di Faenza” can be experienced by means of a kind of circuit that goes through them: Faenza (13Km) an ancient ceramic town, Riolo Terme (12 km) with its spa waters that gush from the Chalk Vein; Casola Valsenio (21 km) a town of herbs and forgotten fruit; Brisighella itself with its artistic, historical and architectural treasures; Castel Bolognese (16 Km) where elegant bronzes embellish precious corners and finally Solarolo (22 Km) a hill that becomes plain.
