“South Station” of Po Delta Park , Cervia lies on the Adriatic coast, next to Milano Marittima, 22 Km South of Ravenna and 35 Km North of Rimini.
Why visit
Cervia has successfully gained the environmental EMAS certification thanks to its green areas and its harmonic touristic development and every year, since 1998, Cervia has also received the important “Bandiera Blu (Blue Flag)” award. Surrounded by more than 300 hectares of pinewood and 827 hectares of salt pans, it is a natural oasis with a large bird population.

Cervia, with its 9 km of fine sandy beaches and 185 bathing establishments, offers a wide range of activities for your free time, especially sports.

Kindness, hospitality and gastronomy are also typical of this town which welcomes thousands of tourists every year, who can choose among a huge variety of hotels, B&B, trendy restaurants, bars and discos.
Where to visit and what to see
A visit to the old “salt-men” village allows you discover the charm of a little town totally rebuilt at the end of the XVII century. The ancient Salt Storehouses, which host exhibitions, events and MUSA, the Salt Museum, along with S. Michael’s Tower and the Cathedral represent the most particular monuments in Cervia.

Piazza Garibaldi, “hearth” of Cervia hosts important events, concerts and typical markets. Particularly interesting are the Municipal Theatre, the Church of the Suffrage, with its Venetian organ built by Callido and the wooden Rhenish Gothic crucifix datable to the middle of 14th century, S. Antonio’s church and the small square “piazzetta Pisacane” with the historical Old Fishery.

The fountain “The hanging carpet” conceived by the sculptor Tonino Guerra is original and colourful, as is the outdoor exhibition held from May to September, when expert gardeners from all over Europe create their compositions in all the town’s flowerbeds celebrating Cervia Garden Town.

Cervia Thermal Spa, located in the middle of the ancient pinewood, is on the forefront of modern therapies, some of which also use liman, a very effective and healing lagoon mud, extracted from the salt pans.

Summer is the best period to enjoy the town: the whole family can relax, choosing from restaurants, discos, “piadina” kiosks, mini-golf, go-karts, and much more.

Spring and autumn are particularly recommended for sport and nature lovers, as well as for anyone keen on wellness, food and wine.

Cervia maintains its seaside town atmosphere also in winter, and the nearby Milano Marittima, where all shops are open also on Sunday, offers the chance to go shopping every weekend.

Not to be missed are the parties organised in every disco for New Year’s Eve or the first dive into the sea of the year! In February, on Valentine’s day, it is possible to organise a perfect weekend with a romantic dinner in one of the many restaurants and a walk, hand in hand among the elegant boutiques of Milano Marittima.
Don't miss
Guided visit at the salt pans, organised by the Visitors Centre, by boat or on foot, to observe flamingos and many other kind of birds at close hand; Butterfly House; Fish market, early in the morning; Buying a little bag of “sweet-salt” produced from the salt pan “Camillone”, the only one still entirely preserved.
On the table
Cervia sweet-salt is a typical product of the area, protected by the Slow Food Association, which characterises the local gastronomy, where it is possible to find “salted chocolate”. Piadina (the local bread) with “squaquerone” cheese and rocket can be accompanied by a glass of Sangiovese red wine, while grilled “blue” fish pair up best with white wine. And for dessert “ciambella” cake with Albana wine. Traditional places of the Romagna identity are: the Fishermen Club, the Casa delle Aie, the fishermen village and all the “piadina” kiosks.
For fun
Entertainment for everybody is easy to find: kite laboratories, mini golf, go-kart, Cervia Adventure park, sports and card competitions as well as the original experience “Saltman for a day” to learn the techniques of salt gathering.
To keep fit
Thermal Spa and several bathing establishments welcome their guests with relaxing treatments, both curative and aesthetic. Special trails in the pinewood equipped with gymnastic gear are available outdoor in order to enjoy sports while surrounded by nature.
