Codigoro

Codigoro is a big centre of the wide area of the land reclamation, whose territory abounds in drainage systems for water control.

The city's name come from Caput Gauri, the name of the medieval centre, founded where the river Po forked and gave rise to the branch of the Po di Goro.

The Riviera Cavallotti, the street in downtown Codigoro overlooking the Po di Volano, offers a wonderful view of the river. By walking this street, you can reach the Bishop’s Palace, built in the 11th century and restored in Venetian style in the 18th century.

In Codigoro surroundings you cannot miss to visit Pomposa Abbey. Codigoro is famous for its food and wines, also listed in the "Strada dei Vini e dei sapori - La via del grande fiume".
