Tourist Area
Felina is the most important village in the Municipality of Castelnovo ne’ Monti. Its location, about half-way up the mountain, offers excellent views over the Reggio Apennines.
The first things to be noticed are the old tower, affectionately known by the locals as the “Salami” and built on a hill overlooking the village, the wide Carpineti Valley, Mounts Valestra and Fosola as well as the unmistakeable shape of Pietra di Bismantova.
Of interest to the visitor is the walk to the “Salami” which starts from the centre of Felina, and the climb to the top of Mount Fosola. Felina is linked to the “Citta slow” (Slow Cities) project and hosts a three-day “Good Food” event every year.
