Music in the Castle 2014

In the months of June, July and August, sounds and notes of summer will accompany the public on a "spiritual journey around the world" thanks to the twelfth edition of Music in the Castle, a festival of 25 shows free of charge in 22 cities of art.

Extraordinary singers, great artists, prestigious orchestras, poets, word equilibrists, masters of irony and nonsense, and even the great director Pupi Avati for all those who will open the doors of the castles, fortresses, manors, parish churches, ancient courtyards, gardens of old villas, squares and unusual places throughout Verdi's Lands.

The full calendar of events will be held in the provinces in Emilia of Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia, while two special events will take place in Lombardy, in Piadena, and in Casalmaggiore, near Cremona.

The calendar has been divided into four sections: "Songs of Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow", "Humor and Theatre", "The Great Classic", and "Dance and Folk".

Spectators will be delighted by the notes of high caliber artists such as Ornella Vanoni, Irene Grandi, Tosca, UT New Trolls, Danilo Sacco, Sorelle Marinetti, Pupi Avati, Paolo Rossi, Dario Vergassola, Jerry Calà, Raul Cremona, Giobbe Covatta, Gianni Fantoni, Andrea Mirò, Orchestra Sinfonica Esagramma, Spilmbrass, Alberto Patrucco, and Compagnia Balletto90 and great soloists such as Classica Zanchini, Succi, Guiducci, Gerboni, Pierobon, Sinagra, Cossi, Fagone and Cabassi.

The festival will begin with Tosca - who won the Festival di Sanremo together with Ron - Sunday, June 1 at 9.30 pm in the courtyard of the Rocca Municipale in Busseto (Pr),  in the heart of Verdi's Lands.

And then it's on to the journey into the music of Guccini with Danilo Sacco (Sunday, June 8, at 9.30 pm – Roccabianca, Pr), the surprising swing and talent of the Sorelle Marinetti (who have come back to this festival after their success in 2013, Friday, June 27, at 9.30 pm – Rivergaro, Pc), the style and intensity of Ornella Vanoni (Friday, July 18, at 9.30 pm – Fontanellato, Pr), the progressive rock of the UT New Trolls (Sunday, July 20, at 9.30 pm – Zibello, Pr), the contagious energy of Irene Grandi (Friday, July 25 at 9.30 pm – Medesano, Pr), and the tribute to Lucio Dalla with the voice of Annamaria Castelli (with Simone Guiducci on the guitar and Achille Succi on the  clarinet, Saturday, August 2, at 9.30 pm – Salsomaggiore Terme, Pr).
