Orange Flag Day in Emilia Romagna

Sunday, October 11 all of Italy will be colored orange with “Exploring Orange Flags. Stories of places. Stories of people”.  More than 100 towns around the whole country will give life to the Orange Flag Day, a unique occasion to celebrate the quality, culture, beauty and the hospitality of these towns who will reveal their excellences through guided visits, tastings, events and free activities open to everyone.

 

Symbol of a lesser-known Italy, the Orange Flag, through a check of more than 250 rigorous criteria, recognizes inland towns with less than 15,000 inhabitants that not only enjoy a historic and cultural patrimony and extensive natural areas, but that also know how to offer tourists great hospitality, protecting the territory and continuing to develop sustainable tourism.

 

In Emilia-Romagna there are thirteen towns participating in the initiative, each with its own special events:
