Slow Spring 2015

From March 21 to June 21 the Po Delta Park will ease into the new spring season with a slow rhythm. Three months full of events to experience nature in all its forms, discovering landscapes, smells, sounds and colors.

From Goro to Mesola, from Cervia to Ravenna passing through the Marshes of Comacchio or the oases further south, nature enthusiasts can experience and get to know this vast nature reserve,  part of the Unesco Heritage of Humanity, which extends for more than 53,000 hectares from Ferrara to Ravenna including internationally important wetland areas with 450 species of vertebrates, of which 320 species are birds, and more than 970 botanical species.

The program of events is very full with initiatives for both children and adults; hiking, bike rides and boat rides, horseback riding, learning labs, guided tours, sporting events and much, much more. Birdwatching enthusiasts can observe and photograph the many species present here, and gluttons will have the chance to taste typical local products.  There are many workshops designed for children and older kids, who can get in touch with nature and learn about the fauna of the Delta in a fun and educational way.

Along with the main attractions there will also be some special events with specific themes.

Starting with the inaugural weekend, March 20, 21 and 22, called Spring is in the air, there will be a program of events, in collaboration with the national LIPU, aimed at identifying Comacchio and the Delta as the most important Italian areas for practicing birdwatching.

From April 3 to 6 there will be Slow Easter, which will provide the opportunity to celebrate Easter with slow tourism immersed in nature with excursions, cultural initiatives and learning labs for children in some of the most interesting nature sites in the Park.

On the weekends of April 11-12 and 18-19, inside the historic Pineta di Classe (Ra), there will be the longest running "Truffle Fair", now in its 37th edition, which will offer a series of initiatives linked to the principal product of this fair: food stands with products made with truffles, tastings with professional chefs, markets with local products, exhibitions, hiking in the pinewood, a truffle dog competition and much more.
