Romagna Visit Card 2015

Back for the fourth year in a row is the Romagna Visit Card, a tourist card for the Romagna area - Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini - with free admission and discounts for many cultural events, but also for events linked to wellness, fun, and wine and food.

Besides the circuit of completely free attractions and the one with discounted admissions, this year there will also be itineraries in the hills and complimentary services, transportation discounts and freebies included in the Card, at a cost of just 12 and valid until January 6, 2016.

There are 48 tourist and cultural sites with completely free admission, a circuit that this year includes Palazzo Romagnoli, the Civic Museum and the San Domenico Museums in Forlì. Along with them are many other fascinating places, some of which are Unesco sites, such as Theodoric's Mausoleum and the Basilica di Sant’Apollinare in Classe in Ravenna, but also the Fortress of San Leo and the Malatestiana Library in Cesena, just to name a few.

Along with the free admissions, the tourist card also includes a network of about 70 sites with reduced admissions, with up to a 50% discount: historical and artistic points of interest, such as the Archeological Park in Classe which is about to be reopened to the public, and cultural events such as the donation only admission to the programs offered by the theaters Diego Fabbri and Il Piccolo in Forlì.

But Romagna is especially the land of the "good life".  For this there are also many wellness centers participating in this initiative such as hot springs spas and golf clubs and fun opportunities for every preference: from little kids, with adults at the theme parks (from Mirabilandia to the new sea lion show at the aquarium in Rimini) and for those looking for an adrenaline rush, there are the new adventure parks in Cervia and San Marino and the Skydive Pull Out park in Ravenna which offers the chance to parachute over the Adriatic Sea.

Those who have the Romagna Visit Card will also receive a gift box of flavors of Romagna, a land with many food and wine specialties.  In the Card kit in fact there is a free coupon to get a local food product which can be picked up at any Coop store in the area.  To do so it is necessary to register after buying the Card at Romagna Visit Card.

In collaboration with Start Romagna, the Romagna Visit Card will offer once again this year the special Orange Ticket for 3 or 7 days for tourists who wish to use public transportation during their stay in this area (info at www.startromagna.it).

This tourism initiative does not leave children out, for whom there is the Romagna Visit Card Just4Kids for kids up to the age of 8.  With the purchase of two adult cards, you can get, upon request, a card which allows kids to have free admission to the tourist sites included in the Romagna Visit Card, with an advantage in regards to the usual reduced ticket price.

This year the Romagna Visit Card is also for visitors at the Expo to help them discover this land: Italians who reside abroad or foreign citizens of Italian origin - who have Romagna origins up to the third generation - can take advantage of this card and get it with a discount to discover their roots.

The Card is personal and can be used to visit Romagna multiple times with the one condition that every site can be visited only one time.  The Card can be bought at all of the IAT and tourism offices in the Romagna territory and at some participating tourist sites (Biblioteca Malatestiana in Cesena, museums, etc.) for a total of more than 50 sales points.  It can also be bought online at www.romagnavisitcard.it and picked up, when you arrive in Romagna, at any one of the sales points.  Once you have bought the card, it is necessary to activate it by registering on the website or by sending a text message to the number indicated (also for those with cell phones abroad) and following the instructions given.

All of the information, including the complete list of participating structures and sites, can be found at Romagna Visit Card.
