Febbio (RE)

The resort of Febbio is located near Villa Minozzo, just 65 km from Reggio Emilia. A tourism and sports center, it is nestled in the lovely setting of the National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, at the foot of Monte Cusna.

The ski resort of Febbio is the highest of the Northern Apennines: its slopes are on the northern side of Monte Cusna, with a difference in height of 900 meters, which makes Febbio one of the most interesting places in the Apennines.

The lifts offer many choices, thanks to the abundant snow that, at this high altitude, remains late into spring. Another strength of this resort is in fact its highest point, 2063 meters, which can be reached with the lift, where a black slope begins, which is also the most technically difficult at this resort.

The wide peak of Cusna and the variety of landscapes make Alpine skiing and off-roading in the natural gullies possible; from the peak it is possible to look out over Tuscany, Emilia and Liguria.

At the beginning of the lifts, you can rent ski equipment and take lessons with instructors.  For little kids and families there is a dedicated area with games and sleds. For taking a break, there is the pizza place “La Contessa” and the lodges “Il Crinale” at 2,000 mt. and “San Lorenzo” at 1,500 mt.

Prices. The ski pass prices are the same as last season: adult day pass €20, junior day pass (6-12 anni) €16, free for children under age 6. Febbio will open every weekend and every day during the holidays (opening scheduled for December and closing late April, if the snowfall and weather allows). Also this year, there is the Febbio Card, a prepaid card that you can use all throughout your day of skiing: at the lifts and lodges. An with the card, the more you ski, the more you save. The first ski pass purchased costs €20, then after fifteen days the price for holidays and weekends is only €5 (children up to age 5 ski free and kids ages 6 to 12 pay only €1). Among the lifts there are magic carpet lifts near the ski school slope, two chair lifts that go up to 1500 and 2000 meters and a Free Ride Area between 1500 and 2000 meters up.

Not just skiing. This town offers many fun events for both winter and summer vacations with various sports that can be done throughout the year such as hiking, bike rides and horseback riding, fishing, and paragliding and hang-gliding.
