Easter and Easter Monday 2016 with art and culture

The monumental vestiges of the Roman town of Veleia, the uniqueness of the Etruscan city of Marzabotto or the laborious life in the rustic villa of Russi.

There is really something for everyone for those wishing to spend Easter weekend visiting the state-run archeological sites in Emilia Romagna which, among other things, will have 60 minutes more light and visiting time due to daylight savings time. For the last few years, also on Easter and Easter Monday the archeological sites have kept normal opening hours to allow citizens and tourists more opportunities to appreciate the digs and finds.

The ancient city of Kainua and the “Pompeo Aria” National Etruscan Museum of Marzabotto will give up their usual Monday closing and stay open both days from 9.00am to 5.30pm – the museum – and from 8.00 am to 5.30pm – the digs.

The Villa Romana in Russi is open on Easter from 2.00pm to one hour before sunset and on Easter Monday from 9.00 am to one hour before sunset.

The gates of the Roman city of Veleia will be open both days from 9.00 am to one hour before sunset (until about 6.30pm).
