A whole week dedicated to art in Bologna

Bologna (BO)

Art week is the art period par excellence in Bologna between January and February that joins the trade fair appointment Arte Fiera with many cultural events in town.

For the first time this year, beginning at the end of January, Bologna will celebrate art in all its forms for an entire week instead of a weekend only, as happened in the last years.

From January 25 more than 70 events will take place in town: a very rich schedule promoted by local cultural operators, private and public authorities, modern and contemporary art galleries, artist run spaces, non-profit areas and non-conventional places.

Finally, the desired ART CITY White Night: on Saturday February 2 special openings until midnight of many places included in the ART CITY program, in addition to galleries, independent exhibition areas, historical palaces and shops.

Among the special and main projects: Anthropométrie performance by les gens d’Uterpan at Padiglione de l'Esprit Nouveau; the first exhibit in Italy by Mika Rottenberg at MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna; at Villa delle Rose the biggest retrospective ever done in Italy by the Croatian Goran Trbuljak, activist in the movement called New Art Practic and in conceptual art since the Sixties; at MAST a photography exhibition by Thomas Struth, Nature & Politics.

Date: the event will be held from Jan 25, 2019 to Feb 03, 2019
