The Travel Festival by Lonely Planet

Rimini (RN)

Lonely Planet, the 'bible' of travelers has chosen Rimini for its only party with three days of meetings, shows, concerts, readings, films and workshops.

Exploring new worlds, getting to know others, establishing relationships is the best antidote to the fears of our time. Why travelling? a question that will be addressed to the guests of this edition: writers, artists, photographers, journalists, men of culture or simple travelers.

Among the guests: Tony Wheeler, the legendary founder of Lonely Planet publishing house, Carlo Petrini, the creator of Slow Food, and also sports protagonists, such as the Olympic champion Tina Maze; researchers who made traveling a reason for being, like Bill Streever; writers and investigators of the spirit of our time, such as Donatella Di Pietrantonio, Bruno Arpaia, Francesco Piccolo, Elena Stancanelli, Roberta Scorranese, Leonardo Piccione, Emanuele Coen, Alex Kerr and many others.

Among the various themes and declinations of the journey, great importance will be dedicated to the outdoors, intended as a direct, physical and authentic relationship between man and nature, but also to food and cinema.

Even music can help us travel with the performances of great artists who are themselves the emblem of the journey, such as the Tuareg guitarist Bombino, the queen of fado Ana Moura, with the trumpeter Giorgio Li Calzi, and the pianist and composer Stefano Bollani, accompanied by the Brazilian musician Hamilton de Holanda.

For those who are looking for an even more engaging experience, there are the UlisseFest workshops: photography and travel writing workshops to discover the techniques to intensify your travel experience and to capture every single moment.

The event is organized by EDT, the Italian publisher of Lonely Planet, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rimini.
