Romagna Visit Card 2017

For those who want to visit Romagna, thanks to the Romagna Visit Card 2017 your vacation can be even longer.

This tourist card offers free admission to 54 cultural sites in the areas of Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna, Rimini and, starting this year, also Ferrara, as well as discounts and deals on another sixty sites all for a total cost of 17 €.

The full offer available to visitors and residents ranges as always from culture, wellness, hospitality, fun, wine and food, to other discounts and freebies, all in a single, easy to use card, especially because there is also the digital version, which can be taken with you everywhere on your smartphone, or the traditional paper format, which can be purchased at more than 70 different sales points.

This year, vacations and trips extend up to Comacchio and Ferrara: discovering Romagna, therefore, can also include sites such as the Remo Brindisi House Museum, the Marinade Manufacturing Museum, the Ancient Delta Museum, all free of charge, as well as the Pomposa Abbey, the Archeological Museum of Ferrara, the Casa Romei Museum and the excursions by boat in the Marshes of Comacchio, which can be accessed with an up to 50% discount.

For those in possession of the Card, there is a free gift which allows you to get to know this area even better, the box set “From lodge to lodge”, with a series of hiking itineraries inside the Casentinesi Forest Park, together with a map of the trails and details about the hospitality structures present there.

Among the participating sites, with the addition of the Thermal Spa of Riccione the thermal spa network of Romagna is complete, including the spas of Bagno di Romagna, Fratta and Castrocaro Terme, so that on your vacation you can enjoy relaxing moments along with walks and visiting the monuments.

Also even more numerous this year are the inland excursions, with the addition of the ancient pilgrim trails: in particular, you can discover the  Cammino di San Vicinio (on the hills near Cesena with arrival and departure from Sarsina), that of Sant’Antonio (from the Verna Sanctuary to Padua, passing through, among others, Rocca San Casciano, Modigliana and the lands around Ferrara) and the Via Romea Germanica (one of the loveliest legs is the one from Santa Sofia to Ferrara), for which there are deals and freebies.

Lastly, there will be even more ties with the nearby cities of art, in particular with Ravenna, thanks to the chance, starting this year, to get in free to the MAR City Art Museum, home of the mosaics which also hosts many nationally important exhibitions. This opportunity joins the one of admiring Ravenna’s Unesco sites such as the Basilica di Sant’Apollinare in Classe and the Mausoleo di Teodorico, but also the Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra (also in Ravenna), the San Leo Fortress (Rimini), the Surgeon’s Domus and the City Museum (Rimini), the Malatestiana Library (Cesena), the Maritime Museum (Cesenatico), the Butterfly House and the Salt Pan Visitors’ Center (Cervia).

Rounding out the deals are more than 60 sites with discounted admissions, from the Ancient Port of Classe (Ravenna) to the Montefiore Conca Castle (Rimini), together with cultural events (Ravenna Festival 2017 and shows on schedule in the main Romagna theaters such as the “Alighieri” in Ravenna and “Diego Fabbri” in Forlì), fun parks (from Aquafan to Indiana Park, from CerviAvventura to the Aquarium of Cattolica) and thermal spas.

Furthermore the Card recommends public transportation to get about quickly and easily among the places promoted, such as Romagna Smart Pass of START Romagna (for 3 or 7 days), Shuttle C.RA.B., a shuttle that connects the Bologna Airport to Romagna, and Wild Bus, the Bus of the Lama Forest, which goes through the Casentinesi Forest National Park.

The Romagna Visit Card is a personal card, which can be bought for €17 for a total savings estimated to be €260. Valid until January 6, 2018, it allows you to visit Romagna multiple times in a year, with the one condition that each site can only be visited once. The Card can be purchased at the entire IAT network and at the tourist offices of Romagna and at some participating sites for a total of 74 sales points, or online at Once purchased, it must be activated online or by sending a text to the indicated number (even for those with a foreign cell phone) and following the instructions.

For kids, again this year there is the Romagna Visit Card “Just4Kids”, for kids up to age 8: for every two adult Cards purchased, you can have (upon request) a card for children, with which they can get in free to the tourists sites of the Romagna Visit Card, which beats the usual reduced price ticket.
