Santa Claus in the Parks of the Riviera

This year, Santa Claus is looking for new helpers and will find them at the amusement parks of the Riviera, the Aquarium of Cattolica, Italia in Miniatura and Oltremare, which for this occasion will open from December 26 to January 8, 2017.

Thanks to them, in Santa Claus’s sack you will find free admission to the three parks for all the kids that bring a bauble for the Christmas tree if they are accompanied by two adults paying full price. The magical journey you will go on next to Santa Claus will be very exciting among sharks, penguins and the otters at the Aquarium of Cattolica, a journey where you will meet Ulysses and the dolphins at Oltremare in Riccione and fly over the 40 squares of a pocket sized Italy, with tiny Christmas lights and trees, for a fantastically fun experience.

Aquarium of Cattolica

To surprise the finned guests of the Aquarium, Santa Claus put on a mask and tank to scuba dive among the tropical fish and wish a merry Christmas to all the children of the world.

In the tanks, the public can discover the enchanting Underwater Nativities: a fascinating art gallery of original nativity scenes in terracotta, blown glass and ceramics, non toxic and sustainable materials, made by 13 artists and craftsmen from all over Italy. From December 26 there will also be a gluttonous chocolate nativity scene made by Pasticceria Staccoli of Cattolica.

Out of the water, there is creativity and dedication with the Recycled Christmas Tree and the Beached Nativities, made by children, teachers and parents dedicated to the mission of sustainability and environmental education. The Recycled Tree is a mysterious Christmas tree the trunk of which is made of driftwood, decorated with jellyfish, starfish and octopi made from trash such as bottles, caps, cans, and tins. Recycled materials from the beach are also used to make the Beached Nativities, which can be visited in the area Plastifiniamola.

The long holiday period of the Aquarium will end with the Befana: the friendly old lady will await adults and children in the Blue pathway on January 6, 2017.
